Players to watch out for
Tabraiz Shamsi has had a good time in Ireland. He finished as the second-highest wicket-taker in the ODIs and followed it up with a four-wicket haul in the opening T20I. To make things more interesting, he has not gone wicketless in his last 10 international games.
Harry Tector likes to feed on the South Africa bowlers. His scores since the ODI series read 25, 79, 29, and 36. The same has been the case with Andy Balbirnie: he has scores of 65, 102, 7, and 22.
Aiden Markram has scored two fifties in his last 6 T20Is. The other four scores read 11, 23, 20, and 5. Batting in the middle-order has helped him regain his form in the shortest format.
Quinton de Kock was destructive until he lasted. His 20 runs included 3 fours and a six, and this is how he will play: go big or perish. He has been in incredible form since the West Indies tour, having scored as many as 255 runs including 3 half-centuries in 5 T20Is.
In his last 6 competitive games, Janneman Malan has scored 3 fifties and a hundred.
Mark Adair opens the bowling as well as bowls at the death, giving him more chances of bagging wickets. He ended up with a three-wicket haul on Tuesday.
Prediction
Ireland’s strength is their batting, and given the pitch and its past results, they have more chances of winning if they chase. Batting first against the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi will be an uphill task, especially in these conditions.
