Ambati Thirupathi Rayudu is a former Indian professional cricket player. He is a right-hand middle-order batsman. He made his ODI debut on 24 July 2013 and T20 International debut on 7th September 2014. In the domestic cricket, he has played for Hyderabad, Andhra and Baroda. In the Indian Premier League, he played for Mumbai Indians from 2010-2017 and for Chennai Super Kings from 2018-2019.

World Cup 2019:

Thought Rayudu was picked as a stand by for the world cup 2019 he didn’t make it for the world cup squad as Shikar Dhawan and Vijay Shankar were replaced by Rishab Pant and Mayank Agarwal. Also, his tweet regards to the pick of Vijay Shankar to the world cup instead of him went viral. Being not called for the world cup even after two players injury decided he doesn’t want to play anymore.

Officially announcing his retirement:

He has officially mailed to senior BCCI officials regards to his retirement stating that “It was honour and privilege to play for the country and thanked the BCCI for and also mentioned the captains who he had played under like MS Dhoni, Virat Kholi and Rohit Sharma. And also mentioned two IPL franchise Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings for their support”. Thus BCCI had confirmed that he had mail written to Saba Karim.
