Power Players for Chennai vs Bangalore Match

After getting hammered in the first game, Wanindu Hasaranga has bounced back in style and is now the leading wicket-taker (8) for Bangalore, including best figures of 4 for 20. Given Chennai’s wobbly middle-order, the leg-spinner could be in for a few more scalps.

Dinesh Karthik seems to be on a mission of never getting dismissed in this edition. In pursuit of a grand finish, his scores read 7*, 44*, 14*, and 32*. His current form makes him a safe pick in the wicketkeeper category.

Smart Picks for Chennai vs Bangalore Match

Dwayne Bravo has bagged 6 wickets in this edition and will have fond memories of dismissing both Kohli and Maxwell when he last played against Bangalore in 2021. The West Indian even walked away with the Player of the Match award.

The much-talked potential of Anuj Rawat finally came to light against Mumbai. His gutsy batting (66 off 47) stole the show. The youngster has been granted the license to go hell for leather at the top.

Although Chennai lost to Hyderabad, Moeen Ali remained the highest run-scorer (48 off 35). The onus will be on the southpaw to provide solidity at the top.

It will be interesting to see how Faf du Plessis and Josh Hazlewood perform against their former franchise. A few well-known secrets will perhaps get exposed.

Glenn Maxwell is back in the mix. He played only two balls against Mumbai, and both found the boundary ropes. Expect nothing but aggression from the Aussie. He can also be called upon to bowl a few overs in the powerplay.

Ravindra Jadeja is yet to light up the stage. That said, in his last two outings against Bangalore, he has bagged 3 wickets and scored 62 runs.

After providing brisk starts in the first two games (28 and 50), Robin Uthappa has slightly gone off the boil. If Chennai are to exert pressure on Bangalore, they will need him to contribute significantly.

Virat Kohli has scored 106 runs in his last four innings, including the highest score of 48 in the previous game against Mumbai. Given his class and consistency, a big knock is just around the corner.

Match Preview

Both teams have met 29 times, out of which Chennai have emerged victorious on 19 occasions and Bangalore on 9. However, the four-time champions are on a four-match losing streak and are desperate to get on the points table.

Meanwhile, Bangalore have won three consecutive matches and appear formidable with the presence of Maxwell and Hazlewood. The two-time finalists will enter this contest as the overwhelming favourites given their recent run.
