Power Players for Delhi vs Bangalore Match
Kuldeep Yadav is the leading wicket-taker (10) for Delhi in this edition, including a four-wicket haul in the last match against Kolkata. His control despite all the variations has been impeccable. The battle against Glenn Maxwell should be intriguing.
In terms of intent and execution, Dinesh Karthik has been the best batter on show for Bangalore. In five outings, he has only been dismissed once. His boundary-hitting in the final overs has generated plenty of bonus fantasy points.
With consecutive fifties, Prithvi Shaw has been laying a strong foundation at the top for his team. He has scored 165 runs (21 fours and 6 sixes) in four innings at a strike rate of 170.21. The opener also got 48 when he last played against Bangalore in 2021.
Wanindu Hasaranga has been amongst the wickets in every game, owing to which he is the fourth-highest wicket-taker (10) in this edition. His googlies haven’t been easy to pick.
Smart Picks for Delhi vs Bangalore Match
Josh Hazlewood is known for his immaculate line and length, regardless of the format. His disciplined bowling could frustrate and lure the aggressive Delhi openers into playing false strokes.
Khaleel Ahmed performed brilliantly with the ball (3 for 25) in the match against Kolkata. Despite the smaller ground dimensions, he managed to contain the batters and also dismissed the openers cheaply.
After failing in the first game, David Warner responded with a blazing 61 in the last match against Kolkata. Delhi will need more such performances from their premier opener going forward.
Expect nothing but sheer belligerence from Glenn Maxwell. He is not going to allow the opposition spinners to dictate terms. From traditional to unconventional shots, the Australian genius is out there to entertain.
Much of Delhi’s success will depend on how Rishabh Pant goes with the willow. His recent scores read 27, 39*, 43, and 1.
At some point, Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli will have to convert their starts into something substantial. Class players often find ways to break the shackles.
