We have opted for a fantasy cricket team based on the recent performances, overall impact, and credit points.
Pitch Report
The pitch at Bristol this summer has been favourable for batting. Although it offers some turn, the pace in it helps pacers put away deliveries with ease and comfort.
Teams
Probable XI for England Women: Sophia Dunkley, Danielle Wyatt, Alice Capsey, Amy Jones (c & wk), Maia Bouchier, Bryony Smith, Sophie Ecclestone, Freya Kemp, Sarah Glenn, Freya Davies, Lauren Bell
Probable XI for India Women: Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Dayalan Hemalatha, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Richa Ghosh (wk), Kiran Navgire, Pooja Vastrakar, Sneh Rana, Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav, Renuka Singh
Game Changers
Since the Commonwealth Games, Sneh Rana has picked up 11 wickets in six T20Is. Overall, seven of her 13 T20I wickets are of the Englishwomen. Her batting skills have not been tested in the format yet, but her highest score of 80* in Tests came against England.
Had it not been for Freya Kemp’s 51* off 37, England would have stared at a low total. It was her highest score in the format, achieving it in her eighth game. Moreover, she can be more than handy with her left-arm medium in the middle overs.
Smart Picks
Given the conditions in England, wickets often fall in the powerplay and hence Renuka Singh has been doing well in this part of the world. Here, she has sniped up 12 wickets in a mere 7 T20Is.
In her last 10 professional T20s, Sophia Dunkley has managed 259 runs at 37. Against India, she has hit 104 runs at 26 including the top score of 61* which came in the first ODI.
Shafali Verma may not be scoring runs that grab attention in scorecards but has been doing enough to feature in the Ultimate Teams on My11Circle. In whatever short cameos she plays, she often generates bonus points for her strike rate and boundaries.
Sarah Glenn’s 26 off 44 T20I wickets have come in the second innings, that is, when the pitch starts getting rougher. Of late, India’s middle order especially has not been able to dominate spin. Her leg-break will play a crucial role.
One way or the other, Deepti Sharma makes some contribution in fantasy leagues. In the opening game, she scored 29* off 24 and in the second match, she provided fantasy points by taking a wicket and additional points for an economy of under 6 RPO.
Power Players
Against England, Smriti Mandhana has scored 599 runs at an average of 43, managing six fifties and two thirties. To further break down the numbers, she averages a whopping 56 in six T20Is in England.
We witnessed a rare failure from Danielle Wyatt at Derby. She otherwise has excellent numbers against India: 521 runs at 33, including the highest score of 124 off 64.
In 2022, Harmanpreet Kaur has smashed 290 runs at 47 in 11 T20Is. Against England in the last five games, she has scored 136 runs at 34.
Fantasy Tip of The Day
11 of 16 wickets that have fallen in the series have been taken by spinners, and two of three fifties have been scored by the openers. More importantly, the teams bowling first have produced more fantasy points.
