Fantasy Cricket Team

We have opted for a fantasy cricket team based on the recent performances, overall impact, and credit points.

Pitch Report

Another two-paced pitch might be on offer for the finals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Despite the bigger ground dimensions, only 2 out of 11 wickets belonged to the spinners in the second qualifier.

Weather Report

Clear skies, with no rain is forecast for the game.

Teams

Probable XI for Gujarat: Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade*, Hardik Pandya (c), David Miller*, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan*, Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore, Yash Dayal, Alzarri Joseph*, Mohammed Shami

Probable XI for Rajasthan: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler*, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer*, Riyan Parag, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult*, Prasidh Krishna, Obed McCoy*, Yuzvendra Chahal

Power Players

Forget Jos Buttler’s staggering, overall numbers. In the playoffs itself, he has added 195 runs, including the knock of 106* against Bangalore. Interestingly, two out of his four half-centuries for the season have come against Gujarat. His 824 runs for the tournament have come at a whopping strike rate of 151.47.

Gujarat’s foundation and success has been built on pillars like Hardik Pandya and David Miller. Between the two, they have added 226 runs in 2 matches against Rajasthan this season.

Although Yuzvendra Chahal went wicketless in the second qualifier, he remains the No.1 strike bowler for Rajasthan and continues to be the joint-leading wicket-taker (26) for the tournament. His flight and turn, coupled with bigger ground dimensions can draw errors from the aggressive Gujarat batters.

Smart Picks

Rashid Khan is a big match player, capable of winning matches within a spell or two. However, on both occasions against Rajasthan this season, he has gone wicketless.

Interestingly, though, despite going wicketless he managed to generate bonus fantasy points by conceding only 14 runs in 4 overs in the first qualifier.

Obed McCoy and Prasidh Krishna almost had identical figures in the second qualifier. Out of 8 Bangalore wickets to fall, 6 belonged to the pace duo. While Krishna is handy with the new ball, McCoy has proved his efficiency at the death.

When Gujarat beat Rajasthan in the first qualifier, seamers Yash Dayal and Mohammad Shami picked three wickets each. Both seamers have been striking consistently with the new ball.

Although Sanju Samson has been getting quick starts, he hasn’t registered a single half-century in his last 6 innings. Rajasthan will need their skipper to contribute significantly in the grand finale.

Rahul Tewatia has already finished a few games for Gujarat in this edition. Although he has been silent lately, he has all the ingredients to rise to the occasion.

Match Preview

The two best teams in the competition have qualified for the finals. While Rajasthan will be aiming for their second title, Gujarat too will be confident of creating history after having beaten Rajasthan twice earlier in the season. The debutants also topped the points table and are the favourites to bask in the glory.
