Form Concern

Darren Bravo’s form with the bat has been anything but dismal. His recent scores in the Caribbean read 8, 4, 11, 1, and 7.

Dewald Brevis too has been experiencing a lean run with the bat. He has managed a mere 23 runs, including four single-digit scores in his last five white-ball games.

Wickets have been consistently eluding Keemo Paul lately. He has managed to strike only once in his last five attempts with the ball.

Game Changers

Odean Smith has a happy knack for breaking partnerships with the ball. He finished the 2021 edition as the second-highest wicket-taker (18). He can also be a floater in the batting order, given his reputation as a six-hitter.

Dwaine Pretorius hasn’t quite managed to carry on his momentum from the 100 League, but he has enough experience and skills to soon find his feet in new conditions. He remains an asset with the ball in the death overs. Moreover, he can also be used as a pinch-hitter in times of need.

Smart Picks

In Guyana’s opening game against Jamaica, Gudakesh Motie was a surprise package in fantasy leagues for his impressive spell of 4-0-10-2. The spinner-friendly wickets in the Caribbean suits his style of bowling.

Although Guyana lost to Jamaica, Romario Shepherd stood out by smashing a 17-ball 36 (3 fours and 3 sixes). Later, he also got the solitary wicket of Fabien Allen.

Guyana’s fortunes with the ball will largely depend on how the South African spinners Imran Tahir and Tabraiz Shami go about their business. Besides being economical, they picked a wicket each in the first game.

Power Players

Andre Fletcher has already set the stage on fire with scores of 31 and 81. Before the tournament, he had added 120 runs in the final three games of the Sixty. Ominous signs for the bowlers!

Since July, Dwayne Bravo hasn’t gone wicketless in a single game that he has been a part of. For nothing is he the leading wicket-taker (117) ever in the history of the Caribbean T20 League.

Fantasy Tip of The Day
