Power Players for the Match
Ishan Kishan’s timing in the India vs South Africa series has been sublime. His approach has been to mercilessly destroy away everything that’s in his arc. His form too has peaked since the second half of the Indian T20 League. In his last eight T20 competitive games, he has slammed two fifties, three forties, and one score each in thirties and twenties. He has not struggled to get a start of late.
Talking about sublime timing and consistency, David Miller has been in red-hot form. He has remained unbeaten in his last four competitive T20 innings: 68*, 32*, 64*, 20*. For a middle-order batter, these numbers are exceptional.
Smart Picks for the Match
Two of Henrich Klaasen’s four fifties have come against India. Despite South Africa losing early wickets, he launched an onslaught equally against spinners and pacers.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar not only delivered sharp in-swingers but also fooled the batters with his knuckle ball. He registered his second four-wicket haul in the format.
Anrich Nortje’s raw pace has fetched him wickets in this series.. Two of his three wickets have come at the death.
South Africa have picked Wayne Parnell for both batting and bowling. He batted in the middle order in the CSA T20 League: his highest score read 33*. In the current series, he has taken the key wickets of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Hardik Pandya, maintaining an economy of just under 7 RPO.
Shreyas Iyer’s last 7 scores read 25, 25, 57*, 74*, 73*, 36, and 40. Although he started off slowly in the last game, he later made amends by stepping out against the spinners and spanking sixes.
Had it not been for Dinesh Karthik’s 30-run show at the death, India would not have reached a respectable total. In 34 T20Is, he has scored 430 runs at an average of 36 and strike rate of 143.
Harshal Patel is often amongst wickets because of his ability to bowl change-in-pace deliveries. That, however, also becomes the reason for his expensive economy. He has conceded 8.5 RPO.
It was a rare failure for Rassie van der Dussen, and it took an absolute jaffa from Bhuvi. Before the second T20, van der Dussen’s last five scores read 43*, 16, 22, 94*, and 75*.

India vs South Africa Match Preview
The Indian bowlers have not been able to maintain their composure under pressure. The spinners especially have not contributed much. On the other hand, South Africa have been at least striking at regular intervals and their batters have been applying themselves sensibly. India will have to pull up their socks, before South Africa make it 0-3 and seal the series.
