Deadline: September 17, 2019 at 4:30 AM IST

Venue: Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados

Pitch report

Australian bowlers have been in such a form that they make batters struggle even on batting-friendly pitches. The home team yet again fell prey to Megan Schutt’s fast bowling in the opening match, gifting her a three-wicket haul.

All T20Is will played at the Kensington Oval. Expect another low-scoring contest if Australia bowl first.

Weather forecast

Rain is predicted throughout the day in Barbados.

Players to watch out for

The Australian captain has been in a goddamn form. Meg Lanning’s score on the tour read 121, 58*, and 54*, receiving Player of the Match award on two occasions.

Stafanie Taylor has been doing all she could to keep West Indies in the race, but her teammates have time and again let her down. She scored 44 of West Indies’ 106 runs on Saturday. In addition, she was the only half-centurion for the home team in the ODI series.

Megan Schutt seems to love the breezy conditions in the Caribbean. She’s got the ball to move late, catching the batters in two minds. She has sniped up 8 wickets thus far on the tour.

Chinelle Henry did what other West Indian bowlers could not do. She sent the openers within the powerplay, pushing the visitors on the back foot. She ended with figures of 2 for 15 in 4 overs.

Ellyse Perry and Alyssa Healy, the centurions of the ODI series, had an ordinary time in the first T20I. In no time, however, they are likely to make amends.

Match prediction

West Indies are the defending champions of the World T20, making it difficult to write them off so soon. However, the result won’t change if they don’t play as a cohesive unit.
