Pitch report
When UAE batted, it seemed that the pitch is tailormade for the bowlers to exploit. Some swing, some spin. Every type of bowler had something on offer. However, as soon as Zimbabwe came to bat, things changed dramatically. They chased down UAE’s 111 in 23.1 overs, suggesting a bowler can get wickets only when he bowls in the right channel.

Preview
There was a thin film of grass at the start. Moor wanted to exploit whatever there was for the bowlers. The ploy worked. Zimbabwe trapped the visitors with their aggressive brand of bowling and shot them down for 110 all out. Chatara was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 25, while Jarvis, Tiripano, and Mavuta took 2 wickets each. Of the six bowlers used, five conceded below 2.6 RPO and one gave away 5 RPO.
Boota was the only UAE batter who could get going. His 36 runs at No. 7 helped them score past 100. In all, seven UAE batters scored in single digits.
Barring Mire’s wicket, everything went Zimbabwe’s way during the chase. Chakabva and Ervine added 80 runs for the second wicket. Chakabva walked back for 38, while Ervine scored his 13th ODI fifty.
Mustafa, Ahmed, and Haiden took a wicket apiece.
